Maria is a highly trained Psychologist, with more than 15 years of practical experience in the field of human behavior. Educated in the UK, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Health Psychology. Her work encompasses a wide range of issues mainly concerning the interaction between health and psychology. During the past 10 years she established her private practice in Greece, where she assisted a wide variety of patients to improve their lives, by teaching them effective coping techniques and mentoring them to change their behavioral patterns. From defining patients’ goals and conducting initial assessment to developing individualized treatment, she is highly experienced in helping her patients achieve their personal goals and objectives. Maria conducted a number of open lectures and seminars, both to students and the wider public, on major psychology issues like health and illness, puberty, parenting, and others.
Maria retains a close collaboration with psychiatrists, general practitioners and other physicians, aiming to provide a holistic approach of treatment and psychological assessments, like stress management, weight control, pain management, quitting smoking. She strongly believes that good life is a process and not a state of being therefore she motivates her patients to set everyday goals and meet their needs in order to improve their quality of life. Maria now lives in Aglantzia with her husband and her two boys.
